After forty years of practicing dentistry in Washington, D.C. I am announcing my retirement from active practice effective March 1, 2019. It has been a great pleasure and honor to be your dentist. My life has been enriched by your trust and friendship.

Dr. Larry J. Peterson has been in private practice in Washington D.C. since 1977. He is an active participant in organized dentistry including; a lifetime member of the American Dental Association, a Fellow of The American Academy of General Dentistry and The Academy of Reconstructive and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Peterson received his D.D.S. degree from Indiana University – Purdue University School of Dentistry. He served as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps, at First Army Headquarters Fort Meade, Maryland. He has completed numerous postgraduate courses in Implant Dentistry, Oral Facial Pain Management, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry, Snoring and Sleep Apnea, Infection Control and Practice Management. Dr. Peterson has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Continuing Education by the District of Columbia Dental Society.


He is a contributor to a textbook in Dental Implantology and has been featured in several Dental Health Care programs on network television, demonstrating current techniques in dentistry. Dr. Peterson is married and has two children. We have worked hard to create a setting that will help you to relax and feel comfortable during your visit. At our warm and inviting, yet state-of-the-art, dental office, we believe that no one should experience anxiety or discomfort before, during, or after a dental visit.
